How do I remove Automatix2?

I'm running Kubuntu 7.04. I wanted to try Automatix2 since it had a lot of software Adept didn't have, but found the program to be problematic. Tried removing it as root with "aptitude remove automatix2", but keeps telling me: E: Could not get lock /var/lib/dpkg/lock - open (11 Resource temporarily unavailable)
E: Unable to lock the administration directory (/var/lib/dpkg/), is another process using it?
root@eMax:/home/jacatone#

Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks.

That's a file meant to stop you from running multiple versions of package managment. Do you have any open at the same time? If not chances are it's there because some form of package management crashed while it was running. I know in Arch I can just delete the pacman lock file if I know something isn't running. I'm not sure if it's the same with dpkg though.
