AUTOPLAY.BAT does nothing when clicked or when i try to open it with another application, as well as AUTORUN.INF(it askes if i want to find an application to open this file) but when i say yes it says cant find application to open file, AND popcdrun.txt
'popcdrun.txt' is not a directory but a text file, so it can't contain a setup.exe file inside (slashes in linux are directory separators). Anyway, what is the output of the following command?:
Code:
ls -l /media/rene/PVZGYPCMC-EN/installers
In case the setup.exe file is not there, please open the CD with a graphical file browser/manager and navigate inside its subdirectories to look for the file. Then tell us where is it, or simply invoke wine specifying the full path to the file.
im sorry, i want you to see exactly what it says when i try to open the file.
Could not display "/media/rene/PVZGYPCMC-EN/AUTORUN.INF".
There is no application installed for Setup Information files.
Do you want to search for an application to open this file?
then it has a yes box and a no box at the bottom. this box pops up when i try to open autoplay.bat, autorun.inf, and popcdrun.txt
In case the setup.exe file is not there, please open the CD with a graphical file browser/manager and navigate inside its subdirectories to look for the file.
when you say please open the cd with a graphical file browser/manager, what do you mean? Synaptic Package Mangager or something else?
That's because Linux can't read these Windows files afaik except text files (and exe files with wine). The file to execute with wine must be an exe, probably a setup.exe file (not an .inf or .bat ot .txt). Please run this command in order to know where is it:
Code:
find /media/rene -iname *exe
It should tell us what exe files are inside the CD and where are them.
