how do i open a session window in gnome in order to install a program.
 
How do I opon window in gnome in order to install a program. In KDE all I have to do is right click on the program i want to install and it gives me the option. what do you do in gnome?

Not sure I understand what you're talking about, but it sounds like you just need to open a 'Terminal' window.

By a session window, do you mean the terminal / console? If so, you can open any directory in the terminal from the Nautilus file browser's File menu.

Yes! precisely! How do you open a terminal window in that program. In kde all you do is right click on the file and it gives you the option to open it in terminal window. But not in gnome . . . so . . . . .Oh and sorry for the wrong terminolgy, I know that makes it kind of hard to help.
