How do I make the program text bigger?

Hello linux users.

I have only just started using linux (suse 9.2) and my first major problem is to get the program text big enough for my poor old eyes to to see.
I have set the screen resolution to 800 x 600 which is best for me, from my MS Windows experience.
I can make the text in various applications bigger and smaller using <ctrl> & mouse wheel, but that does not help with the application menu font sizes.

Help would be much appreciated, then I will be able to move on to the next question!

Regards, Ross

Assuming you are using KDE find the Control Center option in the Kmenu then in the Appearance & Themes -> Fonts adjust to suit your needs.

Thank you, now I can see.

As it is getting late here I will ask the next question to-morrow.
