How do I just restart X after a settings change?

I'm trying to change up the resolution on a tablet PC that I'm working on, and right now every time I change the display settings, I'm rebooting the box to get X to restart.

There has to be a better way, right? :)

ctrl+alt+backspace will restart your xserver.

Also once you've configured your X server with the resolutions you want, you can switch between them on the fly with Ctrl+Alt+Plus or Ctrl+Alt+Minus without restarting X.
