how do I install tv software on kubuntu
 

Ive have recently installed kubuntu onto my system and unlike suse which i had before doesnt have a tv tuner software, even in the package program. I know i can get KDETV and possibly other programs but how would i go about installing it after finding one that works. on the KDETV website there is a load of stuff about source codes etc....what is that and can i install from it.

Go easy on me please, i only know very basic things about linux.

most software will be available via synaptic / apt-get under kubuuntu. if not then it's just generic source .tar.gz or .tar.bz2 or alternatively .deb installation via dpkg, details of which can be found in amillion and one wiki's, books, howto's etc...
