How do I install madwifi or similar to work with my wireless card?

I just installed Ubuntu 7.10 in a dual-boot set-up with windows vista on a Sony Vaio VGN-NR120E laptop. The laptop came with a LAN-Express AS IEEE 802.11g PCI-E wireless card. I have no CDs or anything from that. I just installed Ubuntu but I don't know how to get Ubuntu to use my wireless card to find and connect to wireless networks. I have disks with ndiswrapper and madwifi and the Atheros driver on them, but I can't seem to get them installed. I got ndiswrapper and madwifi un-tarred, but the install and readme stuff makes no sense to me. I would greatly appreciate any help.

there is a debian package for ndiswrapper available for ubuntu which you can double click to install, if you search around for it, and there should be one for mad wifi as well
