How do i install KDE on OpenSUSE 11 with only Gnome from Live CD
I have downloaded/burned/installed OpenSUSE 11 Gnome and i would like to install KDE or KDE 4 if it is stable.
PC info: Dell Inspiron 1100 laptop unmodified. Only SUSE 11 installed (XP is ugly and doesnt work, so i uninstalled it.) Thanks to anyone who helps! :) P.S. I have NO internet on my Linux Laptop but have very fast cable broadband on another PC. Ronlau 9 More detail please, as i no nothing about Linux. |
TRy yast not qt yast>software management>filter>pattern>kde to install kde or any other package group

kde 4 is neither completely stable nor complete at this moment; it may however be stable enough and complete enough, depending. I'm sticking with 3.5.x just for a month or two longer...
If you don't mind the bandwidth implications, you might want to try kde 4 now and updating (again, via yast) in a couple of months, when I'm sure it will be much improved. |
