How do I install a Canon i950 color printer on RedHat Linux, Enterprise v.3.0?
Hi, I want to use a new Canon product, a Canon i950 color printer, with a
Red Hat Linux, enterprise version 3.0, running on a Xeon (dual processor) machine. However, the RHL printer configuration s/wmenu does not give this exact kind of Canon printer among the choices. Standard RHL configuration does NOT yield any printing (no test pages, even), apparently b/c of missing drivers. Can I use this late model Canon printer with the Red Hat Linux machine? How do I get the drivers for this Canon printer? At the Canon website, the only drivers listed are Windows and Macs, no Linux drivers. Is it possible that in the 9 months since I installed RHL on this pc, the printer driver list has been updated? How do find out for certain if Canon i950 drivers's are now included by Red Hat Linux? Thank you for a thorough, patient explanation!! Rich P, NHLBI, NIH 301 451-6249 |
redhat enterprise comes with tech support. Its the main reason why you pay so much for it. Call them and they will walk you through it with no problem.
And if you didnt pay for it... well you get what you pay for. |
