How do I get on the internet?!?

I have just installed Mandrake 10.1 on my computer, I have two modems, and my ISP is Juno(but if needs be, i would switch to a free one thats compatible with linux, if you know of one).
My internal modem is AOpen FM56-SVV

My external modem is Innocom modem

I dont even know if linux installed them.

Plz help.

Thank You.

For your external modem, it is probably the device /dev/ttyS0 (COM1) or /dev/ttyS1 (COM2) in linux. If you have the kppp program to dial just select the appropriate device, and click "Query Modem" to test it (you should see version info if it's the right one).
For the internal modem, you might need special drivers for it, assuming there are any available for linux.
Juno requires special software made for Linspire. You might be able to use the Alien program to extract the files from the Linspire deb file.

For the AOpen modem, go to this website: http://www.linmodems.org/
Download and run the scanmodem tool avaiable at that website. It will run tests on the modem and tell u exactly what chipset it is and will also make recommendations on where to get the driver from. You would need to build and install the driver and then use a dialer like kppp or wvdial.
As far as your internet service goes, you need to find a provider that uses point to point protocol.. avoid providers that need you to install special software like juno does.

Good luck
