How do I get Numlock to turn on at boot?

This is my first time using Linux. I just installed Linux Mint 12, x64 and I'd like Numlock to turn on at boot up. I have it enabled in Setup. I'm not a techie so simple is good.

Thanx
Z

Hi,

There is the numlockx utility that turns on numlock in X.
You can use your package manager to install it.

Regards

If you have Ubuntu installed, here's an article that explains how to turn the NumLock on after or before the login screen.

Unfortunately, turning the NumLock key on before the login screen requires some familiarity with Linux...

funny you say that - I'm always trying to turn NumLock permanently off, because it's annoying me and yields no advantage. :-)

Most of the new stuff seems to remember. Just press the numberlock on and reboot. See if it stays on.
