how do i get my sound going?

i have a MSI motherboard with a via kt333 chipset. ( KT3 ULTRA 2 series )
Motherboard model number = MS-6380E
with an AMD DURON 1.2 GHz cpu. onboard soundcard = via ac'97 audio; chipset vt8233 / via82cxxx . i cant get the sound going, CAN SOME 1 PLEASE HELP ME.

dorian33 hello there mate...cheers for the posting, but i dont know what to look for. i am stupid with computers and just learning now. i dont know how linux work. is there not a setup file to install? what can or what do i do to get it going? please help if you can.
