How do I find the command line?
Where the hell do I find this "command line" that everyone keeps talking about?
I've looked in the Applications Browser, in the Control Center, and I can't find anything called "Command Line" or "Console" or anything like that. On Windows, it was easy to find, and I hardly ever needed it. On Linux, it seems that almost everything involves the command line, yet I can't find it anywhere. By the way, I'm using SLED 10, and it has the GNOME desktop environment. |

Seriously, under Gnome, you should be able to right-click on a blank area of you desktop and choose "Open Terminal". There are other ways too. [Menu]->Applications->SystemTools->Terminal I think might be another way. Type "exit" in the terminal window to make it go away. |
In the main menu, System - Terminal - Konsole.
Or, click on the icon in the kicker panel (it looks like a monitor screen with a scallop shell superimposed). |
Brilliant, thank you.
I feel a bit stupid now. But thanks. :D |
