how do i find my ip on debian

this is a simple question.. im sure i could find out how to cross-link some sort of whatsibob for a suusi and a macos10 or whatever.. or find out how to time travel for that matter.. but i cant find a single thing in the tutorials just telling me how to find my ip.. linux is so damn un-friendly to newbies that it is impossible to start.. im hardly able to use it as an operating system.. and nobody answered my last question about why my apt is broken..

can someone just tell me how to find my ip so i can connect with my mac and transfer files with fugu through port 22 i think

Try the command "ifconfig", which will need to be run as root (or as "/sbin/ifconfig" as a normal user).
