Almost there, just need to:

Code:
sudo apt-get install firmware-b43-lpphy-installer
See, I told you to mistrust my advice, since I am not the trusted voice of linuxmint.com.

And pulling plug to router........ Wireless is detected!

B.U.T..... now I have to figure out how to get on my network. Of course every time I hookup a different computer I do something different, so no matter how many times I take notes on it (and I keep notes on every change) it still is a hassle.

Well thanks to all who helped with suggestions. The wireless router is working... I think. Maybe try something. Nope can't get on yet. I put in password but enter key is not recognized. Back to drawing board

llllater..

There should be a network icon on taskbar, locate your network & put password in it if network is protected.

And... we are running wirelessly!

Thank you to all. I love LQ. What a great Christmas present.

And now I move on to the software forum. Must learn how to load from repository. We are learning!

Newest of the new is not as green in spite of the color of the tree!
