How do I dualboot Windows 98 SE FAT32 and SuSE8.2?
 

I want to be able to run windows 98 ans SuSE.
The SuSE iso is:
SuSE-8.2-LiveEvAL-
iT SUPPOSEDLY RUNS OF A DISC.

Just set your BIOS to boot from the cd-rom drive and put your SUSE disk in then boot up - you can try SUSE out from there.

How would I go back to windows?

Just set your computer to boot from the hard drive again - Knoppix is another good live eval cd - great for trying out Linux and not messing with your boot sector.

Is is as easy as SuSE?

If you set your BIOS to boot 1st from the CD, and then as the 2nd boot device, you set it to boot from your Harddrive, you can avoid having to keep changing your settings.

The 'LiveEVAL' discs run from the Disc but save some settings in a file on your C: drive. I don't think the Knoppix disc does that. One great thing about Knoppix, though, is that it is a complete distro that can actually be installed onto your computer in full - it is actually a Debian-esque distro. Whereas, I believe the SuSE LiveEVAL disc can only be run from the CD.

All in all, though, which ever you choose to play around with, if you can set your BIOS to boot from CD and then Harddrive, if you don't want to boot into Linux, you just make sure the disc isn't in the drive! Easy as that!

I set my bios through the installation?

Nope! When you turn the computer on it'll flash up a message (quite briefly) about 'Press F1 to enter Setup' (or something along those lines). From here, you should look for '1st boot device', '2nd boot device', etc. It is these that need changing. Did that make sense?

If I install Mandrake, doesn't give you the option auotomatically to boot windows or linux?

During the installation of a distribution like Mandrake you would typically install a bootloader like LILO - its LILO that gives you the facility to boot into Linux or Windows.
