The same way you would download any file on the internet. For most people that means to click on a link in their browser.

Evo2.

PS. This is however by no means the only way.

  1. Go to Google, and look for the Linx you want
  2. Click the link, and go to their website
  3. Click the link to download it
  4. Wait
  5. When finished, burn it to a CD or DVD

And be sure to burn it as a disc image, not a data disc.

You could, of course, click on the 'Download Linux' tab in the Main Menu list at the top right of this LQ screen.

See also: http://distrowatch.com

They have links to the sites for all major distros---or you can download directly from there.

Just click the link and let it download and use an ISO burning program to write it to a cd.

For any distro (http://distrowatch.com or http://www.livecdlist.com/ ) a file ending in ".iso" is a CD image and you need to burn a CD
You need to burn the downloaded (xxx.iso) file to a CD-R. Get ImgBurn for doing that on Windows.
