How do i do this?
i stuck in the mandrake cd and it boot from cd....now i want to use mandrake to make two partitions or 40GB...one for linux and one for winxp....for my second partition...i select NTFS and it says "You need a true filesystem (ext2, reiserfs) for this mount point" what does this mean?
my goal is two partition the 80 GB HD into 2 40 GB....one with linux and the other with winxp...how can i do this? |
Is the XP installed on your system already? If not install it first on HD, then make some free space, and install Mandy on it. If the system is running XP already, partition your drive with XP tools, or Partition Magik or whatever partitioning software for XP you have (I have no idea what they are I am total newbie to XP I never had it and I strongly believe I will never have it)

o...so i should install XP first?
|
Yes, MS OS's complain about being install as an alternative, they tend to get the hold on your system first. So I suggest installing XP first, and then Mandrake in dual/boot configuration

ok...i've installed winxp...now wut would be the next step?
