How do I create/boot a ram image from a disk?

How do I create/boot a ram image from a disk? I'd like to create a linux installation that is booted from a USB or CF drive and after boot does not access the disk.

thanx

Try the distro at slax.org. Lots of friendly online help, and I can vouch that it works.

What system do you have installed?
Basically, you wanna turn your installed system into livecd or no?

Maybe livecd is what I want except with a disk. I'm working with CentOs 5.3.

See this website. http://www.pendrivelinux.com/

Unless you restrict the usb it could access the hard drive. You restrict by user permissions. Don't allow a user to have access to mount.
