How do I create a global variable

I have a need to create/add a global variable in my httpd.conf file. I do not know how to do this. I'm sure it is easy, but I can't find any tutorials that state exactly how to do it.

I need something like:

variable-name = "some-value"

Would that work or is there some "special" syntax I must use?

Thanks for the help.

Your best bet is to go to: http://httpd.apache.org/

and read up on the documentation for your version of the server.

You may also wish to consider Webmin as a server admin tool.
