how do I copy a selection from xterm to clipboard?
 
simple question: if I'm running xterm under xfce4, and I want to copy a few lines (usually for pasting into forum posts), how do I? I can highlight a selection, but no right-click menu, and ctrl-c or any other key combo I've tried doesn't work.

Simply highlighting the words automagically puts it into the 'clipboard'. Just use your 3rd mouse button to paste it (or your 1st and 2nd buttons at the same time).
