How do I change my 2.6 to 2.4 kernel ??

I wandered to use hsflinmodem, but now it says to be made for 2.4 and unable to run under 2.6 So HOW DO I CHANGE THIS (do I just uninstall it from YAST ? I don´t want to dump my system!)

By the way.. all distros have troules with conexant micromodems
or there´s any that runs them the rigth way

One day you'll need to compile a kernel. Just go to http://kernel.org/ and pick a kernel and download it. They all come with instructions.

You might want to wait for some suggestions from SuSE users first though. There might be precompiled kernels for your distro available.

Ok I got the kernel compiled, in fact I got 2; one precompiled and a NSA ready to install, but, how do I add it to GRUB boot ?May I choice what kernel to use for the same sistem? I now yes

Yes you can have more than one kernel. Keep the original one for a while untill you're sure everything works. I'm not sure how to setup Grub. There's probably a control centre or something with SuSE where you can add kernels. Google is probably the quickest way to find out

Just copy the kernel image to /boot directory and edit the menu.lst file in /boot/grub directory.
