How do I change double click to single click?

Is there any way in Ubuntu to run programs or open folders by single clicking instead of double clicking? Kubuntu can do this, but I don't know how to change it in Ubuntu.

Thanks in advance.

Hello,
I don't use ubuntu, the Gnome should be the same. System>Preferences>Mouse.

nigelc: Thanks for your prompt reply...it works very well, but not exactly what I expected.

Might take some getting used to as I need to hold the button down to activate on one click. It looks cool as the pointer arrow "fills up".

Thanks again!
