how do i build soft raid 0 in harddrive level without partion...

how to create soft raid 0 by the way hardware raid does the same effect....

i dont want to create seperate partition for /, /home,var,usr.......then create raid 0 by combine these partitions....

i want to first combine 3 hard drive for example.then create seperate partition for /,home,var,usr,/opt....... on the raid 0 drive i just created.

200gb + 120gb +280gb =600gb raid 0 and root for 12gb,usr for 50gb,var for 50gb....home for the rest of space...

i dont want to,
4gb+4gb+4gb =12gb raid 0 for root, 20gb+20gb+10gb =50gb raid 0 for usr ............etc

Reading through the Software RAID Howto at TLDP should help you on your quest. Basically, read the man page to mdadm and follow your nose (the guide explains exactly what to do in more details).

Good luck!
