How do I always boot to the old version of Linux?
 

Hi, I completely messed up the video drivers in Kubuntu 12.04
Now when I boot, it only goes to a blank screen. So the only way to get to a usable desktop is to boot into recovery mode and selecting recent version of Linux.
But if I reboot it goes to that other version that won't boot.

So How do I set it to always go to the old version? or better yet, just uninstall that one that's messed up. thank you.

This is a misconception, caused by a wrong labelling in the bootloader: You can't uninstall 12.04, since it is actually the only version on that partition. Loading the "recent version" means nothing more than starting 12.04 with the kernel from your pre-upgrade OS. It would be easier to either do a clean install or to open a thread for your video problem, so that we can help you with that.

Clean install is my best option, I'm going back to what worked. Kubuntu 10.04 and hopefully the nvidia drivers will work. thank you for the reply
