how do i activate IP timestamp in linux?

does anyone know a simple way to activate the timestamp option of the IP header?

By default, the TCP timestamp is enabled, to check
cat /proc/sys/net/ipv4/tcp_timestamps

otherwise, add the correct line in sysctl.conf.
For this, you need CONFIG_SYSCTL=Y in your kernel config
