How do I access my firmware folder?

I need to move some files (non-free drivers) to my firmware folder to get my wireless card to work. When I try it tells me I don't have the necessary permissions. I've tried logging in as superadmin in the terminal and that didn't work.

Who owns the folder that you are trying to write to? And what are the rwx permissions on the folder? I suspect that root owns it. Example.
Code:

ls -ld /usr/folder/folder/etc
If root own it then youll need to be root, and the folder will need write perm.
And how are you trying to copy/move the files?
If you need to be root then su to root and copy the files.
Code:

$su
Password:
#cp /files/to/copy /place/you/want/them

$ means you are user. # means you are root.
