How do I ...

Sorry about the obscure title I am unsure about how to word this problem.

I downloaded a game called Legends from a website, it is supposed to be a Tribes clone. It came as a tgz file, how do I make it into something I can install?

Thank you.

if its source (and it probably is):
tar xvzf filename.tgz
cd directory_that_got_extracted
./configure
make
make install

this is standard GNU.
check the INSTALL file before you try to install it.
