how create a shortcut on the linux desktop for a executive program

Hello All,

Now, my program can run in command line. I would like to invoke the program by clicking on a icon on the linux desktop just as people would do in Windows.

I wonder how to create an icon on the desktop and associate it with my program.

thanks

That icon in your desktop that runs programs is called a "launcher". Where launchers are supported, there is a menu item someplace to create one. Usually it goes like this:

rt-click on desktop
select "create launcher" (or create new > launcher)
use the dialog to add the command to run the program, and an icon.
exit

The exact method can depend on the exact desktop environment.

What is an "executive" program? Do you mean an executable program, or are you referring to the permission level?
