how create a shortcut on the linux desktop for a executive program
Hello All,
Now, my program can run in command line. I would like to invoke the program by clicking on a icon on the linux desktop just as people would do in Windows. I wonder how to create an icon on the desktop and associate it with my program. thanks |
That icon in your desktop that runs programs is called a "launcher". Where launchers are supported, there is a menu item someplace to create one. Usually it goes like this:
rt-click on desktop select "create launcher" (or create new > launcher) use the dialog to add the command to run the program, and an icon. exit The exact method can depend on the exact desktop environment. |
What is an "executive" program? Do you mean an executable program, or are you referring to the permission level?
