how can i replace "lilo" with "grub".......
Hello all,
i'm using slackware 10.0. currently "lilo' is the bootloader...........now my question is : how can i change or replace lilo with grub. ................ one more question... what is the counter part of "autoexec / startup" in linux.??? actually whenever i'm booting my system "configure-kopete" is getting opened automatically... i don't want it to prompt automatically.....so where shud i look for it ??? regards.... |
If you don't have one start by making a boot disk with the mkbootdisk command so if something goes wrong you have an easy way to get back in.
To uninstall lilo all you have to do is type the command lilo -u and poof it's gone from the MBR. Download and install the grub package. To install grub check out the installation section in the manual at http://www.gnu.org/software/grub/manual. Bill |
Grub will just overwrite lilo on the MBR if thats where you are going to install it.
