The mount command will access the floppy and ls will display contents.

As root user:

# mount /dev/fd0 /mnt

# ls

BTW: You are running a VERY old version of Redhat!

Try the cmd
uname -a
at the cmd line.

If it says you have a kernel version beginning with '2.4', that is a very old and unsupported/unpatched version. Do yourself a favour and get a current distro eg RH Fedora 8 or 9.

Support for Fedora 8 will end in a couple of months. RH started renumbering after RH9 and switched to RHEL(Red Hat Enterprise Linux). When they switched to RHEL they started to charge. Centos is RHEL with the logos stripped out and is free to download and update. It is binary compatible with RHEL (Centos is compiled from RHEL source). Fedora now only has a 13month support life. Centos has at least a five year support life. The current version of Centos/RHEL is 5.2 .

Hi all,
Thanks for your help. But I would like that when I inserted a floppy in A drive. How can I recognize it. If I do not mount. Where I can see it?
This is the core of this problem?

Best regards,

Sim Anh
