How can I pause boot so I can read info

How can I pause the boot so I can read the info at startup. I installed a PCI IDE controller and can't read the info displayed at powerup boot since it goes by so quickly. I'm using RH9.

thanx

I am not aware of a method to pause the boot up, but you can read most of those messages after the boot is complete. In the console or in an xterm enter the command(s) 'dmesg | less' (or 'dmesg | more' if you prefer more over less).
