how can i match a distro to my processor?
 
Hi all

I have a desktop pc x86 family

and had a netbook acer aspire a150 Atom 1.6ghz what family do I look for to get a distro for the netbook?
what do the various links re processors relate to above the distro download links

I nice simple explanation would be lovely

To ensure compatibility on both of your computers, simply use the 32-bit standard version (this might be called i586 or i686).

Yes, x86, that is 32 bit. Some atoms are 64 bit but those will run either of 32 bit or 64 bit while a 32 bit atom won't be able to run 64 bit; if uncertain, x86 is the failsafe option. Besides, I do not think that atoms are powerful enough to take any real advantage of running a 64 bit operating system.
