Look in your distribution for Kopete or Pidgin you can use any one of those two to log to yahoo, or you can use yahoo web-based messenger: http://messenger.yahoo.com/

I think yahoo has stopped their stand-alone yahoo messenger for linux because I did not find a link to it.
