How can I get adblock to work?
I just downloaded Linux Debian yesterday, having been with windows for 2 years. I downloaded adblockplus and I see it in my desktop, but I can't figure out how to open it, or make it work. Thanks.

Adblock is a browser extension.. It isn't an application on it's own... Thus it shouldn't appear on your desktop..
You can install it from here: https://adblockplus.org/en/ (It should automaticaly detect what browser you use) |
you use firefox to install it IN firefox
the EXACT!!!! same way as you did on Windows7 using firefox Quote:
the firefox installer will INSTALL it not ask to save it |
I removed it from my destop and downloaded it as if I was using firefox, and it seems to work. With windows I always downloaded to my desktop so I could easily find it to install, or 'run'. Thanks.

so you do have a red "stop sign" with ABP on it on the top of firefox
the SAME place it would be in the firefox UI as on windows7 from here https://adblockplus.org/en/firefox you clinked on the green link that says "install for fiefox" got this window that ASKS for you to install it --- see photo---- http://t.imgbox.com/YxldM6pB.jpg http://imgbox.com/YxldM6pB by the way this is 100% THE EXACT SAME AS YOU DID ON WINDOWS for firefox !!!! |
