How can I download ffmpeg from CVS?


Hi,

My question is short. How can I download ffmpeg form CVS?

It's written in the ffmpeg site

OK, but could you explain what that command will do, bathory? I have never been use CVS before...

From "man cvs":

-z9 set the compression level to 9
-d:URL the CVSROOT directory in the cvs server
co ffmpeg: checkout ffmpeg (i.e. get the latest version of the project ffmpeg)

Running that command it will create a subdirectory in the directory you currenty are, named ffmpeg containing the latest source, so you can then compile and install it.
