Edit the GRUB config file (/boot/grub/menu.lst)

The order of the menu entries is determined by the order in the list in the file. The default is determined by the line that reads--eg--"default 0"
0 for the first item on the list, 1 for the second, etc.

You have to be root to edit this file.....Open a terminal and use "su" to switch to root, and then invoke your favorite editor----eg:
nano /boot/grub/menu.lst

if you are using lilo in mandriva and you want to use grub instead go to the control ceter and the look for the boot manger and change to grub. in there you can set it up to boot other kernels
