How can i burn a bit torrent file

i just downloaded from this site linspire 5.0 and 4.5 live cds i would like to know how to burn these type of files so i know for the future. I use Nero .

there is no such thing as a "bittorrent file" in the way you're using it.. it's just a file that happens to have been obtained via bittorrent. maybe you mean an iso file? if so, just burn as image in nero.

torrent files must be downloaded through a bittorrent client. i use Azureus although there's a lot of different ones. you've basically downloaded a "instructions" file and when you open it with a client, it will connect to peers and download the data. so it will probably end up being something like a .iso file when it's done downloading.

well i have a client bit torrent and it download like in one second i know i have the bit torrent cleint.

Matir 06-27-2005 01:46 PM

If it downloaded in "like one second", it's obviously not an ISO image. It might be the .torrent file, in which case you'll need to use it to get the iso.

Dark_Sniper* 06-27-2005 03:01 PM

yea its that type of file know how can i get it to a iso file as you say.

Matir 06-27-2005 03:02 PM

Run the bittorrent client with that file.

i'm lost.. you thought that a 8kb file contained an entire linux distribution???

Dark_Sniper* 06-27-2005 06:17 PM

http://iso.linuxquestions.org/distro.php?distro=58

If you have a bit torrent client, which i'm not sure you do, open the file you downloaded inside the client and it will begin downloading the proper .iso file

hokay.. bittorrent is a peer to peer distribution system for files. popular with people who want to avoid strain on their servers, it is also popular among those distributing dvdrips games and tvrips though. you aren't using it for these illegal/questionably legal purposes. so don't worry about it.(lots of people worry about this)

http://www.bittorrent.com/
http://www.bittornado.com/
http://azureus.sourceforge.net/

those are bittorrent clients. pick one, install it. use it to open your torrent files, download your cd image and burn it.
