How can i backup whole linux partition and file system ??
 
I want to back up my suse 9.1,fedora 3 partition file system to my dvd-rw or another usb hard drive.but don't have tape drive .so how can i do and what software for this job ??

for imaging give acronis or dd a try!

I've been using partimage from the SystemRescue bootable CD for a while now: http://www.sysresccd.org/ Before that, I used PowerQuest DriveImage for years, but since I've gone "Linux Only", and since PowerQuest was bought by Symantec, I wanted something open source, and partimage more or less does exactly what DriveImage did.
