Hosed my login

It all started when I noticed an error when logging in. I found this forum and did what was recommended.
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...ighlight=.dmrc

got erros saying root could not update the .gvfs file, thats when I noticed this file
d????????? ? ? ? ? ? .gvfs

after doing what was listed is when the real problems started. After logging in, Im getting font errors, unable to update .ICEauthority file, error after error. My .xsession-error file looks like this

Quote:
/etc/gdm/Xsession: Beginning session setup...
Setting IM through im-switch for locale=en_US.
Start IM through /etc/X11/xinit/xinput.d/all_ALL linked to /etc/X11/xinit/xinput.d/default.

What do you think, should I just create a new user and use that or is this repairable?

It looks to me that you have either filesystem corruption or a drive that is going bad.

I hope not, this thing is only three months old. I created a new login and everything seems to be running fine....for now.

Thanks for the reply.
