Which sound card you use ? Or maybe better witch chip set is used in you,re sound card?

ghanareddy 09-07-2008 05:34 AM

well i dont in perticular but Iam using dell xps laptop. Its working properly with vista. But when i start mandriva iam getting a hiss sound through out. It is also telling that "You dont have a medium ,you must install through software media management" is this sufficient to help me..
thanking you... If you find the solution please mention where i can get that software.

If the install was going correct all the software you need to get sound is installed by default.
That is why we like to know the chip set to see what we can do.

Ok my processor is Intel core2 duo, and my sound card is Integrated Sound Blaster Audigy ADVANCED HD Audio Software.
There are two ports for my laptop those are working properly with vista but only one of them is working properly with Mandriva 2008 64 bit.
Please do help what to and how to do.
Thanking you...

Hi.

... just to add a bit more to it.

I got the same error when I installed mandriva on a Virtual machine. Plays music though.

I think it got to do something with dependencies.

As long as the music is playing it should be fine.
