hiding running programs in KDE

I was wondering if there was a way to hide programs that I'm running (prevent them from appearing on the list of programs running to the right of the Kicker). The reason I want to do this, for example, is that Kppp is always there and it would be nice if it wasn't taking up room, making the other programs running appear smaller in the list.

Does anyone know how to do this?

Additionally, as an afterthough, I noticed that when I move my mouse around the screen rapidly, the CPU cycles go way up. Is this normal?

Thanks!,
Jon

take a look at kstart
open a konsole and type kstart --help to see what options it gives u

u can make programs not appear in the taskbar with it and stuff like that

try some rootkit :) and anything you didn't wanted won't be visible.
