Hidden task bar

I have acidently somehow managed to mess up the bar at the top of ubuntu 11 and task bar thing on the left side, can only see my wallpaper, was after I turned cube on then off again, tried a fee reboots but it's not loading

The bar thing at the side is called unity. Try pressing alt & f2 to get your run dialog box to show. Now type: unity then click run.

We're you messing around with compiz? The same thing happened to me.

What I had to do was disable the cube effect. Enable Unity again, and desktop wall. (assuming your problem arose from messing with compiz)

None of the shortcuts seem to work, I can only bring up the search results window and can't move it. Alt + f2 doesn't do anything

Anyone ?
