hibernating laptop sony viao sz ubuntu 11.10

I use a sony viao sz laptop and I have installed Ubuntu 11.10. The problem is that I can not hibernate my system. Is there any fast solution to my problem?

No, but you don't say how you're trying to hibernate it. Are you pressing a key? Clicking on your GUI->Hibernate (or sleep?). According to the Ubuntu website, this works right out of the box:
