hi need ssh remote desktop help
 
hi
I going to school and I need to set up and remote work place will be at home
and through the web page(if web page will not then putty) - ssh-remote desktop in to home system have the desktop and sound to the computer i'm on.

right now Im using ubunutu 12.10

Im better at diagrams

Start here and read up on VNC server. Its very commonly used for Linux remote desktop access.

Do you have to set routers up so the port is up and open!

Well yes, you must be able to reach your system either by IP or hostname resolution and the port must be opened through the network. You can manually specify the ports in the VNC config files if you need to change them.

I can do that at home but at school I dont have that control can I set the vpn on 80 or how to do that!

You can set the port to whatever you need to.

Notice the -httpport option. You can specify that to anything including port 80, just make sure nothing is already using that port.
