Question hi,I enable the krb5-telnet service, but root user can't login

1.I modify the disable=no
2.mv /etc/securetty /etc/securetty.bak,
3.vi /etc/pam.d/login and mark the first line
'#auth required pam_securetty.so
auth required pam_stack.so service=system-auth'
4./etc/init.d/xinetd restart
OK
5.chkconfig --list
gssftp: off
daytime-udp: off
krb5-telnet: on
time-udp: off
but when I use root user to telnet, report
login: root
Password for root:
Login incorrect
and use other user, can login with telnet.

Can you tell me how to root login?????
thank you

you may wanna try this:
edit the file /etc/securetty and add the following to the end of the file:
pts/0
pts/1
pts/2
pts/3
pts/4
pts/5
pts/6
pts/7
pts/8
pts/9

can u log on as a regular user and then su to root? Also you should try to use ssh as it is more secure than telnet

Hi
Install telnet-server on your system and disable krb5-telnet in /etc/xinetd.d/krb5-telnet.
Move /etc/securetty as mv /etc/securetty /etc/securetty.bak
#service xinetd restart

Now try to telnet this machine as a root user. It will work.
Worked for my case though.
