hi i am trying to install ns2 2.34 in ubuntu 10.04. it showing the following error

to see if they have a fix for your platform

/usr/local/ is not the place for building software.
Default is /home/<name>/tmp/
or any directory in /home/<name>/ like /home/<name>/ns2/

The issue is simply, that you don't have write access
to anything outside /home/<name>/ , which is not very
practical with an application like ns-allinone-2.34.
I.e. then it will also be all too difficult to use.
