I have tried several versions of the Flash player download but having no luck navigating via command line in console. Please help.

Please explain. How does navigating in the CLI relate to installing Adobe Flash Player? Please also say which browser you are using, and what symptoms lead you to believe something is amiss.

there is no need to do anything with the command line to get flash installed. log in as user, open your browser (firefox or what ever) google adobe flash player, click on the download link, install via your browser. you may need to restart the GUI after you get flash installed, but it is now automatic (like in MS Windows automatic) and thus no longer requires any command line interaction to install.

Download adobe flash player(.rpm) from http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

Type in terminal:
Code:
rpm -i <filename>.rpm

This method is recommended but you can also

Code:
# cd /usr/lib/mazilla/plugins
# wget http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_10_linux.tar.gz
# tar xvf install_flash_player_10_linux.tar.gz
# rm install_flash_player_10_linux.tar.gz
# ls
(verify libflashplayer.so is there)
Be doing it that way you leave the libflashplayer.so your plugins folder restart firefox and it works. Again you should try to install the rpm with your rpm packet manager like said above.

Downlaod rpm file http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get...lease.i386.rpm here

Code:
rpm -i flash-plugin-10.0.32.18-release.i386.rpm
and your done
