Hercules Dualpix HD
Hi!
I'm trying to get my Hercules Dualpix HD webcam work in Ubuntu. I modprobed ov534 and the webcam is recognized but it's still not working. I have /dev/video0 but dmesg output says the driver uses video device -1. So I'm not sure if the ov534 driver is the right one or if there is a better choice (if any.) If somebody uses the same cam or have suggestions, please let me know. Thanks in advance. ManuTM |

Thanks. It seems that the the webcam is uvc compliant. I'm gonna try with uvcvideo.

The hercules dualpix exchange (o6f8:3005) is uvc compliant but mine is a dualpix HD (06f8:3003), so?
And it's not working yet |
OK, I e-mailed people at Hercules and they said:
reference sensor ov9655. Which is very informative indeed. Too bad I don't have a degree in electronics. So if somebody knows something about setting up the damned thing, please don't hesitate to let me know. Thank you. |
Ok, it seems there is definitely no linux driver for this hardware at the moment. Maybe later...

There are news (at least for me) about the hercules dualpix hd (06f8-3003.) It's now supported with kernel modules gspca_v4l2 and gspca_ov534 but it seems problems remain. After re-plugging the webcam, I get this from dmesg:
