help with wxga - newb ?
 

hey guys. I pciked up a new lappy and I am wondering if someone could give me some b asic steps on getting support to work on my wxga monitor 1280x800

Is it as simple as making changes to the config file and adding support for the res/refresh.. is there more to it?

I would suggest editing /etc/X11/XF86Config to reflect your setup.

or try xf86config command from a shell.

If you still have difficulties perhaps posting an error or something will help.

apparently there is an issue with the radeon driver and xfree86 4.3 . What I am wondering is can i have the normal vesa driver support the wxga mode without the radeon driver?
